Call Now for SWARM REMOVAL: 256-346-5340
Swarm season begins with the first warm days of spring here in North Alabama, and can last till the end of summer. The largest majority of swarms will happen early in the spring and summer, so be on the look out for the pineapple shaped clumps hanging from limbs, light posts, eves of houses, and just about anywhere a bee can land.
While the swarms are mostly docile when they are clumped, they still do not need to be tampered with, as they can and sometimes do, defend their colony. They clump because there is a Queen bee hidden somewhere within that moving mass of bees. They are determined to protect her while scout bees are out looking for an appropriate home for the colony. The only problem is they are exposed and need to find a place quickly.
In comes the Bee Keeper. At Parson's Manor, we take swarm removal seriously, doing everything we can to preserve property and bees. Please, never spray them with a hose, poison them or in any way harass them. Not only does this risk personal injury to yourself, but also puts the bees at an increased risk of death.
If we collect the bees, and they become established at the Manor, a quart of Honey from their hive will be delivered to your home at the end of the season, free of charge! (This is based on the survival and production of the hive. Environmental conditions do affect bees heavily)
